ASL Club (American Sign Language)

Our ASL Club offers students a fun and engaging opportunity to learn the basics of American Sign Language while building communication, inclusion, and cultural awareness. The club runs in six-week sessions throughout the school year, giving multiple opportunities for students to participate.
Sessions are offered for two grade groups:

  • Grades K–2
  • Grades 3–5

Each group meets once a week after school for one hour. During this time, students learn signs through interactive activities, games, songs, and real-life communication practice. The club encourages students to connect with others in new ways while developing an appreciation for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Synergy Clubs

Synergy Squads are small groups of students who are working together and focusing on Leader In Me Habit 6: Synergize and Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw. We believe that together is better and Synergy Squads give students and staff the opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, and work toward a common goal. Students practice Habit 7 by taking care of themselves physically, emotionally, and socially during our Synergy Squads.  These squads may also participate in activities that give back to our school and community, helping students see the impact they can make when they work together.

Technology Competition

GaSTC (Georgia Student Technology Competition) is a statewide technology competition where students in grades 3-12 compete in a variety of technology categories.  The first round is competing against other Fayette County students.  Top finishers compete in the region.  Region top winners compete at the state level.  Our main goal is to challenge students to become leaders in a digital age.  For a list of categories, visit www.gastc.org .
